A major pilgrimage site of the Hindus and the Muslims, it is witness to the advent of huge numbers of tourists from various parts of the world.

Reigned by Prithvi Raj Chauhan, the historic city of Ajmer served as a prime centre of the Chauhan power till 1193 A.D, when Prithvi Raj Chauhan lost to Mohammed Ghauri. Subsequently it became a part of the sultanate of Delhi. Located on the lower slopes of Taragarh hill, in the Aravalli Range, the city of Ajmer has a large artificial lake, called Anasagar, to the north, decorated with a marble structure called Baradari.

A visit to Ajmer - one of the finest tourist attractions in India, will lead you to discover a different facet of the nation's history.
